No, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Are Not Engaged

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie's relationship is 100 percent swoon-worthy. For starters, they fell in love on the set of Game of Thrones—which is a pretty big accomplishment. (You know a romance is real if it can blossom amidst all that...carnage.) In May, Harington revealed he and Leslie are moving in together. (So, do they host GoT viewing parties or nah?) People seriously can't get enough of them.

Which is why it shouldn't surprise you a rumor popped up earlier this week that they're engaged. Life & Style published a big, splashy story on Thursday (July 20) detailing Harington's alleged proposal. According to the tabloid, he cooked Leslie a "romantic candlelight dinner" and then popped the question. Leslie allegedly "burst into tears and immediately said yes." What a fairytale, right?

Except it's complete rubbish. A rep for the two actors told Gossip Cop that Life & Style's story is "fabricated" and that they're not on the road to the altar. That same rep hammered this point even further to the U.K. Metro newspaper, explicitly saying, "They are not engaged." Well, that's that, I guess.

But this doesn't mean there's trouble in paradise. Harington sang Leslie's praises in a recent interview with Esquire. "...it's as much her relationship as it is mine, and I can't speak for both of us. But yeah, we are very, very happy. So that's what I'll say about that," he told the magazine.

The couple confirmed their relationship in April 2016 when they hit the red carpet together for the Olivier Awards in London. Harington plays Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, while Leslie portrays Ygritte, a member of the the Wildlings group. The seventh (and final) season is currently airing on HBO.
